Top Ten Halloween Candies
Halloween is more than just about dressing up in a costume and running around the neighborhood. It is also about candy; loads and loads of candy. The holiday is one of the biggest for candy-lovers everywhere so here is the top ten Halloween candy for your sweet tooth.
- Mini Chocolate Bars – I am including everything from KitKats, 3 Musketeers, and Snickers in this group. Mini chocolate bars are perfect for Halloween because their small size doesn’t take up a lot of room in your trick or treat bag. Plus, you can pilfer a few from your child’s bag and they will never notice.
- Tootsie Roll – Sure, not everybody likes them but they are pretty common during this time of year. The little pseudo-caramel rolls are great because they are long-lasting if you just suck on them. But they are damn hard to get out of your teeth if you bite them.
- Popcorn Balls – A few homeowners who are a little more dedicated still make homemade popcorn balls. I don’t know who came up with the idea of putting popcorn into a ball but they are pretty good. And they are easy for kids to handle.
- Candy Corn – The perfect candy with the perfect Halloween colors. These little guys have been a candy staple for years. Thankfully, they taste nothing like corn.
- M&Ms – It doesn’t matter whether they are plain or peanut, M&M’s are just awesome. You can eat dozens of them and still never feel full. But the part about them not melting in your hand is bogus.
- Bubble Gum – Haven’t you ever had a little ghost come up to your door with bubblegum stuck to the side of their mask? Bubblegum usually finds its way into trick or treat bags. Just be careful its not old and hard or you can break a few teeth.
- Peanut Butter Cups – Reeses puts out the best combination of chocolate and peanut butter ever. The individual packages are best for Halloween. I just wish I knew what kind of peanut butter they use because it sure isn’t Jiff.
- Sour Candy – These days kids love any type of sour candy. In fact, the sourer it is, the better. Be careful, though, because some of that stuff can really pucker you up if you take too much.
- Gummies – Little kids seem to prefer gummies to just about any other candy. Gummie candies come in just about every shape imaginable which makes them fun. Plus, kids enjoy that soft chewyness.
- Pixie Sticks – These things have been around forever and are still a kid’s favorite. The paper sticks have nothing to do with pixies but the sour-sweet powder is just plain good. If you are really lucky, someone will throw one of those giant pixie sticks in your bag.
