Most horror movies take themselves pretty seriously, but not the films on the following list. These movies mix humor with horror to create a viewing experience which will tickle your funny bone while shivers run up your spine. Behold the Top 10 horror comedy movies!

10. Black Sheep – A New Zealand horror comedy film about bloodthirsty sheep on a rampage. That pretty much says it all.
9. Grindhouse – Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino combine for a double feature which pays loving tribute to the grindhouse cinema of the ‘70s. There’s plenty of horror and gore to be had, but the whole thing is presented with tongue firmly planted in cheek. And don’t miss the fake trailers (Nicolas Cage as Fu Manchu?!).
8. Scary Movie – This film has generated several sequels, and it spoofs every horror film possible within its run time. If you like the Wayans Brothers, you’ll be delighted (Shawn and Marlon star while Keenan directs).
7. Re-Animator – Jeffrey Combs is delightfully devious as a scientist obsessed with finding a cure for death. Of course, he hits some snags in his research, and bloodthirsty corpses are soon running wild.
6. Feast – Loads of gross-out humor and unexpected events (like the hero getting killed within seconds) make Feast a subversive little horror gem.
5. Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon – An up-and-coming slasher shares his secrets with a camera crew. Great “insider” look at the art of killing teenagers, and you’d be amazed at how much cardio it requires.
4. Tremors – Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward team up to take on giant, burrowing monsters (dubbed Graboids). Lots of down home charm, and country singer Reba McIntyre gets to demonstrate her gun skills.
3. Fright Night – A young horror fan becomes convinced that a vampire has moved in next door. His solution? Appeal to an aging actor best known for playing a vampire hunter in the movies. What follows is a damned funny nod to the classic vampire movies and myths.
2. Evil Dead II – It’s a one-man show for Bruce Campbell as he takes on legions of Deadites in this horror classic from Sam Raimi. Whether he’s fighting his own severed hand or hacking up his possessed girlfriend with a chainsaw, Ashley Williams is one of the most iconic horror movie characters of all time.
1. Shaun of the Dead – Cheeky Brits versus the undead. Simon Pegg and director Edgar Wright team up to provide a movie that’s an excellent zombie flick, but also a hilarious comedy. Especially fine performances from Pegg, Nick Frost and Bill Nighy. I especially loved the zombie beatdown synchronized to the music of Queen.
