Top Ten Comic Book Maniacs
Comic books have birthed some of the greatest villains in entertainment literature. Many of these iconic bad guys are cold and calculating but some of the best villains are completely whacked out and crazy loony. Here is a list of the top ten comic book maniacs that you will ever read about.
- Violator – From the comic book Spawn by Todd McFarlane, Violator is a demon from hell with a deadly sense of humor. His purpose is to be a mentor to the new hellspawn and get them ready to rule in Hell. As a short, fat, balding guy, his appearance is very deceiving.
- Saint of Killers – The supernatural bringer of death from Preacher. His job is to gather souls of the dead but his dedication to his job causes him to go a little farther. He even shoots The Devil.
- The Joker – Probably the most unhinged of all the villains in comic history (or at least the most well known). His portrayal in movies by Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger has definitely cemented his position in the top ten. Some of his worst acts include shooting and crippling Barbara Gordon (AKA Batgirl) and murdering the second Robin.
- Angstrom Levy – A villain from the groundbreaking series Invincible, Levy carries a red hot hate for the book’s hero. When accidentally mutilated after an experiment, he blames Invincible. He later kidnaps the hero’s mother and baby brother as hostages.
- The Female – Garth Ennis has written some of the most graphically violent comics of all time. His series The Boys was no exception. The character known as The Female is the mute muscle of the group. She has an uncontrollable penchant for ripping people apart.
- Kid Miracleman – One of Alan Moore’s early works was a book called Miracleman. In it, the main character’s former sidekick, Kid Miracleman, grows up to be a psychopathic killer. We’re talking smiling and laughing while the blood and guts are flying.
- Mr. Hyde – Another one of Alan Moore’s books, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen featured famous characters from literature. One of the teammates was the transformed Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde. As Mr. Hyde, he was capable of extreme acts of violence such as murdering his teammate The Invisible Man.
- Harley Quinn – Harlequin proves that you have to be truly crazy to love a guy like the Joker. She is the Clown Prince’s sidekick, girlfriend, and protégé. She was once a psychiatrist at Arkham Asylum where she met and fell for him.
- Deadpool – The Merc with the Mouth is one of the coolest and funniest characters at Marvel Comics. He is also insane. He fires off jokes, talks to ghosts, and engages in questionable behavior, all while kicking ass.
- Carnage – Carnage is what you get when you combine part of the symbiote alien from Venom with a serial killer. As one of Spider-man’s villains, Carnage is a killing machine with no remorse or mercy. Plus the guy just looks creepy with those sharp teeth and costume that looks like blood.
