In the pages of the Batman comic books, the Caped Crusader routinely deals with some of the most twisted criminals ever created. In fact, Arkham Asylum seems to have been created almost in anticipation of the Dark Knight’s crime fighting career. Some of his foes are more frightening than others, which is why I’ve compiled this list of the top 10 scary Batman villains.
10. Prometheus – The son of murderous hippies, Prometheus has been described as the “anti-Batman.” After watching his parents get gunned down by police, he devoted himself to a life of crime. He now possesses amazing fighting abilities and technological resources, and he’s even defeated Batman in a one-on-one fight.
9. Deacon Blackfire – A religious nut who once formed an army of homeless people in the sewers of Gotham. He took on the crime lords and ended up ruling the city, but his own people eventually murdered him (after witnessing his defeat at the hands of Batman).
8. Man-Bat – Often misunderstood, the Man-Bat has battled Batman on a number of occasions. He takes the appearance of a giant bat with humanoid features, so he’s naturally going to make the list of scariest Batman villains.
7. Bane – A convict from South America, Bane is incredibly strong and boosted by a powerful drug known as Venom. After once breaking Batman’s back, he became known as “The Man Who Broke the Bat.” Our hero got his revenge later, however.
6. Clayface – There have been numerous Clayfaces over the years, and each one is terrifying in their own way. From an insane actor named Basil Karlo to a scientist who could melt people with a touch, Clayface remains one of Batman’s most disturbing foes.
5. Killer Croc – A former crocodile wrestler who mutated into a large lizard-like creature. One of the most fearsome killing machines to ever prowl the shadows and sewers of Gotham.
4. Two-Face – Former district attorney or violent psychopath? It all comes down to a flip of the coin. That’s what makes Two-Face so scary to me; he’s a walking reminder of chance and disorder.
3. Mr. Zsasz – This lunatic serial killer keeps track of his kills by carving tally marks into his body. Of all his foes, Batman has remarked that he hates this one the most. That’s quite a distinction.
2. The Joker – The Clown Prince of Crime is one of the few characters in the DC Universe who gives both heroes and villains pause; that’s because he’s completely insane and entirely unpredictable. Batman’s most dangerous enemy, The Joker is one guy you wouldn’t want to run into in a dark alley. If you did, he’d probably tell you a joke and then murder you in some horrible fashion.
1. Scarecrow – Who better to top this list than a man obsessed with fear? As Professor Jonathan Crane (aka The Scarecrow), this Batman villain has spent countless hours studying fear and its various applications. During his attempted crimes, he employs various technological means which allow him to drive most victims into a state of absolute panic.

I totally agree with this list! But you forgot Deadshot. The guy is the 2nd best assasin in the DC universe.
