When it comes to buying horror books online, nobody can match the sheer volume of Amazon. But which tales of the macabre actually sell the most copies on their site? As of this writing, these are the Top 10 bestselling horror books on Amazon. This is a category I may update every few months.

10. Club Dead by Charlaine Harris – The third in The Southern Vampire Mysteries series, Sookie Stackhouse must chase after her vampire boyfriend Bill when it appears he’s fallen under the spell of a devious ex-girlfriend. She’s guarded by a charming werewolf, as well as a vampiric Elvis Presley. A great read for those looking for light-hearted undead fun.
9. Dead to the World by Charlaine Harris – The fourth of The Southern Vampire Mysteries, it tells the story of psychic waitress Sookie Stackhouse and her continuing interaction with the forces of the supernatural. When a powerful vampire is cursed by a coven of witches, Sookie must save his life and involve herself in a supernatural war which threatens to tear apart the town of Bon Temps, Louisiana.
8. Living Dead in Dallas: A Sookie Stackhouse Novel by Charlaine Harris- Sookie Stackhouse is asked to use her telepathic abilities to help locate a missing vampire. The small-town waitress agrees, but she has a few demands of her own.
7. World War Z by Max Brooks- Written by the son of famed comic Mel Brooks, World War Z reports the story of how zombies nearly conquered the world and eradicated humanity. The story is told from numerous perspectives by people all across the globe. A fascinating novel which has been optioned as a future motion picture.
6. Betrayed by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast – The second book in the House of Night series, this novel is about teen vampire Zoey Redbird and her experiences at the vampire school known as the House of Night. But when human teenagers start dropping dead, everyone suspects that a member of the undead is behind it.
5. Dark Lover by J.R. Ward – The first book in The Black Dagger Brotherhood, Dark Lover concerns a war between vampires and vampire slayers. The bloodsuckers are led by Wrath, the only remaining purebred vampire on Earth. When his half-breed daughter becomes endangered, he must unexpectedly introduce her to the life of an immortal.
4. Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris – The first novel in The Southern Vampire Mysteries series. Meet Sookie Stackhouse, a young waitress in Louisiana with the ability to read minds. Now, Sookie is about to meet her first bloodsucker, and a serial killer has just opened up shop in her sleepy town of Bon Temps.
3. Skin Trade by Laurell K. Hamilton – The 17th book in the series known as Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter pits our heroine against a vampiric serial killer in Las Vegas. The local weretiger clan is also involved somehow, and that can’t be good for anyone.
2. The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman and Dave McKean – After his family is murdered by an assassin, an 18-month-old baby wanders into a graveyard and is raised by ghosts and ghouls. As the child grows and the centuries pass, the assassin patiently waits to finish the job. Written for ages 10 and up.
1. From Dead to Worse by Charlaine Harris – The eighth novel in the series known as The Southern Vampire Mysteries. In this entry, telepathic barmaid Sookie Stackhouse meets her great-grandfather, gets caught up in a power struggle between a werewolf clan, and assists the vampiric Queen of Louisiana against an attempted coup.
