Who says that guys get to have all the fun in horror movies? As this list will prove, the female of the species can be plenty sadistic when pushed to the edge. We now present the Top 10 Female Horror Movie Villains for your enjoyment.

10. Mother from Mother’s Day – This unlikable old bitch is about as sadistic as they come. From the comfort of her rocking chair, she directs her dimwitted and violent sons to do all manner of horrible things. No wonder her sister, Queenie, waits in the woods for a chance to kill her.
9. Tamara from Tamara – A shy girl with a passing interest in witchcraft, Tamara is accidentally killed during a prank-gone-wrong. She quickly returns from the dead to exact her revenge, which is hardly an original concept in horror movies. What really makes the character so memorable is the drop-dead beauty of star Jenna Dewan.
8. Kayako Saeki from Ju-on: The Grudge – With her creaking, croaking and overall bizarre movements, this angry ex-housewife is one of the nastier spirits from modern Japanese horror.
7. La Femme from Inside – She wants a baby of her own, and this creepy French lady isn’t willing to wait. Wielding a pair of scissors, she tries to cut one out of an expectant mother.
6. Amanda Young from Saw II – Jigsaw’s apprentice is a former junkie with a real mean streak. While Jigsaw’s traps can be escaped from, Amanda’s have a nasty habit of always killing their victims.
5. Angela/Peter from Sleepaway Camp – A strange case of gender confusion, Angela acts like a girl but sports a penis. This makes her a bit cranky, and she finds killing campers to be a great outlet for her frustration.
4. Asami Yamazaki from Audition – Whether she’s cutting off a man’s foot or forcing an ex-lover to eat her vomit, this little Asian beauty is one chick you don’t wanna mess with.
3. Pamela Voorhees from Friday the 13th – Mothers always tend to be overprotective of their children, but Pamela Voorhees took it to a whole other level. When her son drowned due to the negligence of summer camp counselors, she armed herself with a variety of sharp instruments and undertook a bloody mission of revenge.
2. Sadako from Ringu – When it comes to creepy Japanese kids, Sadako takes the cake. Maybe it’s that freaky hair which looks as though it’s never met a dryer, or maybe it’s her alarming ability to crawl out of television sets. Whatever the case, a meeting with Sadako is likely to be the last thing you ever see.
1. Annie Wilkes from Misery – Kathy Bates plays the deranged fan role to the hilt. As the object of her affection, author Paul Sheldon, struggles to escape, Annie concocts increasingly insane plans to keep him with her forever.
